 As a follow on to the other emails about high/low dose dex or medrol, I an cutting and pasting an excerpt from today's acor list on the topic-

4 mg or medrol versus 80 mg a day??? 

"I agree with Denise, there are many studies showing lower doses of steroid
work...without all the side effects.  I was taking 80mg of medrol and landed
in the hospital with a steroid induced encephalitis, complete with
psychosis. I had bilateral cataracts done and a right total hip replacement
from avascular necrosis.  Don't tell me that high dose steroids are not
dangerous!  I am now on 4 (yes, that is four) mg of medrol today and my
numbers are all in the normal range except M-spike.  I take 15mg of Revlimid
as well.  I feel great and that is the best part."
