I tried weekly acupunture treatments weekly for about six months in '06 and I never felt any improvement. But I began this therapy 11 years after the VAD therapy that caused my pn. The article linked below indicates that accupunter may help pn but I 'm wondering if one needs to begin therapy relatively quickly. David

Hi, David and Everyone.
When my husband had Bell's Palsy (facial paralysis from stress) a couple of years ago, I asked my acupuncturist if he could help my husband. The reply was , Yes, if my husband came in soon. If he waited for a few weeks or months, then the acupuncturist couldn't guarantee that acupuncture would work. As it turned out, my husband had three acupuncture treatments soon after the diagnosis, and everything returned to normal and has stayed that way ever since.
From this experience, I think timing is important.
My pn has never resulted in much pain and while I have tried accupuncture to regain sensation and muscle strength I have never taken anything for pain. But for those who experience pain this article may help. David
"The growing body of evidence that marijuana (cannabis) may be effective
as a pain reliever has been expanded with publication of a new study in
The Journal of Pain reporting that patients with nerve pain showed
reduced pain intensity from smoking marijuana."
