GPC (glycerophosphocholine) to protect from chemobrain

Below is an exchange from mmasupport by Nora Brown and Barbara Pavel discussing chemobrain prevention.

As one who still suffers from chemobrain I would have done anything to prevent or minimize this side effect.  David

Hello, friends,
Just saw my pcp, a complementary doctor, and she told me about GPC, (glycerophosphocholine).....
Given before chemotherapy, it protects the brain from the damaging chemo.  Anyone familiar with this?

Have a wonderful evening.....
nora

ps  she also said that eating a predominately alkaline diet would be very helpful for us mmers.   Whadayathink?

Hi Nora,
Does anyone know what constitutes an "alkaline diet"?

Chemo fog is hard to break, it took me years, and I still have trouble doing more than one task at a time.
It takes all of my energy to concentrate.  My most recent SCT with Melphalan was May 2005.
