Physicians Write Off Side-Effect Concerns: Study
A new study conducted at the University of San Diego found half of doctors
dismissed patient concerns that they might be experiencing adverse side effects
connected to the medication they were taking. The research investigated
physician response to patients who were prescribed statins, and who believed they
were having adverse side effects. According to study results, 47% of physicians
dismissed the idea that muscle or cognitive problems were statin related,
while 51% denied a connection with patients suffering peripheral neuropathy.
