Cyclopamine tartrate

Well, it has been a long time since I have posted here. I am 5 and a half years out from my myeloma diagnosis. I had the TT3 treatment from UAMS Arkansas, but did not return for consolidation treatment. I did get results, but not complete remission. Then, I discovered the research on cancer stem cells.

Milk Thistle

Overview

* Milk thistle is a plant whose fruit and seeds are used to make remedies for liver and bile duct ailments (see Question 1).

* The active ingredient found in milk thistle is silymarin, an antioxidant that protects against cell damage (see Question 1).

* Milk thistle has been studied in laboratory cell lines and animal tumors for its potential to make chemotherapy less toxic and more effective, and to slow the growth of cancer cells (see Question 3 and Question 5).

Beating-Myeloma.org members!!!

On Tuesday, January 26th, I decided to transfer the entire beating-myeloma.org website to a new web design firm. The transition went smoothly. However, the daily digest, the email that you each receive daily that records new content on the b-m.org site, experienced dramatic problems.

Long story short, the new web design firm redesigned the digest function on the b-m.org website and this email represents your first communication from the Galen Foundation since 1/26/10.

I apologize profusely for any inconvience this interruption may have caused you.

Sincerely,

Multiple Myeloma Total Therapy Regimen Claims 50 Percent Cure Rate

Bart Barlogie and the myeloma oncs at UAMS have caused quite a stir by using the word "cure" when they talk about their total therapy regimen.

http://www.myelomabeacon....

"A recent study confirmed that the multi-drug regimen known as Total Therapy 3 (TT3) has a high response rate for newly diagnosed multiple myeloma patients."

Please understand that the definition in this case of the word "cure" is five year survival.

Omega-3, vitamin D study-

For anyone who reads this who does not have cancer or who has not suffered a heart attack. The link below is to a study at Brigham and Woman's Hospital and Harvard to study vit D and omega 3 supplementation. I offer joining the study because I think vit D and omega 3 supplementation is essential for us and I would join this study if I lived in New England and if I didn't have mm.
