what or what not to discuss on mm listservs

the comments below were posted by Shirley on the acor list
yesterday.  There has been a thread recently about healthcare in
America.

Shirley- I believe that these posts have everything to
do with myeloma care in the US and therefore will affect each and every
one of us at one time or another.

Well said.

David

ps-I would post this on the acor list but I would be censored.

Just as you are free to delete posts that do not  concern you regarding your
myeloma medical condition,, so you are free to delete  opinions expressed
regarding the delivery of health care in the US or elsewhere  if you believe it
inappropriate for you.
In my opinion, censoring things"political" is  justified if the person
doing the posting is gaining personal  power from the promoting of one
political party over  another.    I do not get this feeling from the postings of the
members of this list.  As I discern it, the intentions of most of us is to
share our assessment of the choices out there that affect us medically and
personally, not primarily financially or for securing political power.
I opt for a continuing of the discourse.

As I mentioned yesterday and as many of you have read, there has been a discussion on both the acor and mma listservs about U.S. healthcare- I am posting about this topic in an effort to add to the discussion of myeloma issues.

By posting these links I am trying to discuss one specific issue- Clinton and Obama are proposing ways for me to find coverage- me with my pre-existing myeloma diagnosis. McCain's proposals are market-based and will not allow me to be able to secure insurance. David

McCain laid out his vision for the U.S. health-care system, rejecting
universal health insurance and embracing a system with fewer regulations
where consumers shop for coverage on their own

Health Blog: John McCain wants to let the invisible hand of the market sort
out the health insurance mess.
