Off topic- The FDA regulating tobacco

I firmly believe that tobacco should be viewed as a drug and therefore regulated by the FDA.  Unfortunately, the FDA has its hands full trying to learn about, manage, approve, etc drugs like thalidomide, revlimid, velcade, etc.

Is it fair to say that cancer therapies are more important than tobacco right now?  Am I being selfish? David

Wall Street Journal-

"The House commerce panel overwhelmingly approved a bill giving the FDA the authority to regulate tobacco. The legislation allows the agency to monitor cigarette labeling, ban flavored cigarettes and limit advertisements."
