This is a link to an op-ed piece in yesterday's WSJ- How do list readers feel about talking politics on this forum?
"The leading Republican candidates all have announced plans that would give more power and control to individuals over their health care and health insurance, breaking the employment-based coverage lock. That's a far cry from the proposals of the Democratic presidential candidates. While they talk about patient choice and private insurance options, their remedies rely on a much bigger dose of government."
I have a problem discussing this political issue- I am liberal on most policy issues- However on health policy in general, I happen to agree with this op ed article- that individual choice is the best direction.
Should this forum be focused on myeloma management and not about healthcare in politics? DavidÂ

I think it would be very beneficial to discuss the politics of healthcare IF we can do so without bashing political parties and taking personal shots at any one policy maker.......If we can just stick to the issues, I think it's important to cancer patients to understand the politics of healthcare.......Just my 2 cents.......
