FDA attack on supplements etc.

Yesterday a friend sent me an important alert from the Life Extension Foundation. About a week ago, I had read about this bill, called the Food and Drug Administration Revitalization Act (S1082), but hadn't thought much of it. Well, I was WRONG. I should have paid more attention. As I understand it, if this bill passes, it may be impossible to buy curcumin or milk thistle or even vitamin C without a prescription. Does that make any sense? Plus, there are apparently a lot of dangerous loopholes that Big Pharma can use to get dangerous drugs out on the market. Not to speak of the rise in drug costs. I think we should all read this info (see below link), and act on it. Please write to (or call) your congresspeople and senators and tell them to vote NO on this bill. Read about it on the www.lef.org website:

I am about to stock up on curcumin, just in case. This makes me very angry!
To think that my own Massachusetts senator Kennedy is one of the (two) creators of this mess!

The FDA and Pharma have been trying to get supplements qualified under prescription for years- it's an annual thing, just as they're patenting genes. The American public just responds and kepps them from it but it arrives as some new legislation often and we all need to be allerted as to this new effort- they also are probably getting anxious that Bush will leave office without them getting a patent or something on our supplements so the push is on.
There is a branch of the NIH that is supposedly set up for alternative practices-

They have a list of trials for many alternative methods and cancer-

Interesting that the address ends in recruiting=false???Hmmm.
