Hi -- I am asking for your advice. We went to Mayo Rochester in Oct '06 for a second opinion when my hubby was first diagnosed MGUS IgG kappa (see numbers below). Now, I have a work conference in Minneapolis in May -- so basically we have a free trip to Minnesota - otherwise we would not go. So, I called Mayo and got a follow-up appointment with Dr. John Lust (who wrote several articles on the transition of MGUS to Myeloma!). Local oncologist/hemotologist says fine go if you want but it is a waste of time and resources (that is, the insurance company's reseouces since Blue Cross pays for ALL of it!) Of course, hubby is one of this doctor's healthiest patients (most are in active stages of cancer - hubby is not!).
Well, we are going. But my question to you all is - While we are at Mayo, are there any particular tests that we should request; questions to ask; and/or trials we should ask about ? Or, how can we maximize the benefit of the visit?
All advice & suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thanks!
