David,
There are times when I want to post a quick note but it seems cumbersome to have to go to a new page, sign in and then post. Perhaps you could have it designed so that you can post right from the list serve that you are reading. Similar to the ACOR serve. This would help me, I am not sure how others might feel.

Hi MJ, just a note: I don't have to sign in to B-M anymore. I told my computer (!) to remember my password so that I don't have to sign in each time (a nuisance, I agree with you). That should solve your problem, if I understood it correctly, that is.Â
Ah, this (below)Â is my sparkling brand new signature, as requested by Lisa. It was supposed to be on three lines, but it's legible enough, methinks.
Take care!

Nice signature, Margaret! :-)
Mary Jo-
I am embarrassed to say that the tech guys programmed it so that I don't sign in. I just click on the link at the bottom of a post that I want to reply to, this takes me to the listserv where I then write and press "post comment." Â
I will forward your comment to Robert. Other members have mentioned various difficulties with the site before. One the one hand, I want to make it so that the site is as easy to use as possible. On the other hand, the tech guys need to construct a few hurdles to jump through to prevent automated "bots" from reaching member names. Privacy is too important. Having said this, I will see what I can do. Thanks for your feedback. David
David or Margaret,
Can you explain to me how to have the computer remember or automatically sign me in?
Thanks,
 MJ
MJ and All-
Below is Robert's reply (he is one of the tech guys who program b-m.org) to Mary Jo's log-in question. Margaret's reply today discusses the same thing.
-everyone's computer is different- some offer to "remember me" and some don't-
-either way, Robert will add a "rember my password" to the log-in process within the next week or so- I will notify the list when this happens-Â
"David-
We didn't program anything to make it so that you're "automatically logged in." That's your computer being smart and remembering your password. Most computers these days ask you when you type in your password if you want to "remember it." Some people have their computers configured so that they don't get asked that question or so that it doesn't save their passwords at all.
As we've discussed before, password protecting the ability to post comments is a fundamental, extremely common method of preventing spam and protecting the site members.
One feature I probably can add to the site is a checkbox at the login window that says "remember me" so that if they do have the popup window feature disabled on their computer, this will still be accessible. This isn't a fool proof solution, but it's an improvement on what we have."

Not much help, here, since I am no technical wizard. But this is what happened to me: my computer asked me, probably the first time I accessed B-M, if I wanted my B-M password to be remembered on THIS specific computer, and I simply clicked on the Yes button. So I don't have to sign in every time. I don't know if ALL computers ask these keep-your-password questions, though. My husband, the family computer genius, just told me that you can change your computer's Internet Explorer (if that's what you have) options. Look for: Tools, Internet Options, Content, Automatic somethingorother, then change your Settings). Sorry about the somethingorother, but our computer language is Italian, and I am not sure how to translate "completamento automatico"!). Perhaps Robert can help you out...in ENGLISH! :-)Â
