Subject: Re: Genetic mutations over time

I'm not sure how helpful this information will be
but it pertains to the subject of genetic mutations,
a "hot" topic on the list as of late. NOW, obviously,
the smart thing to do would be to scan some excerpts
from the book but I don't HAVE the book as it's back
at the library!!  SO, I just want to mention the
title and author as a chapter (towards the back)
dealing with genetics and epigenetics is very
relevant to what has been lately discussed on this
list.  There is a specific mention of a drug that
is/was in the research stage to treat B-cell
dyscrasias, presumably including myeloma.  The book
is:

Survival of the Sickest : A Medical Maverick
Discovers Why We Need Disease
 by Sharon Moalem, Jonathan Prince

This book was fantastic reading in my estimation and
brings forth many important findings, the jist of
which is that we have a long, long way to go before
we understand all there is to know about evolution
and the behavior of genes.  I recommend the book
highly if you're studying genetics.
