sunshine

This is from today's Wall Street Journal's "Health Mailbox." David

Since I am posting about the pros and cons of sunshine i thought that I should include this article- David

"Answer

Yes, it's possible to have a sun allergy — though this is very rare. In
sensitive people, direct sun exposure can trigger an immune system
response that activates inflammatory cells or proteins in the skin."

This post is a follow on to my previous post about the many benefits of vitamin D supplementation.

I don't know if it was caused by my VAD, cytoxan or the many chemos used for my pbsct but somewhere along the way, my skin developed extreme sun-sensitivity that is just as pronounced today as it was 10 years ago.  So yes, I love the sun for it's ability to make vitamin d in me but only in small doses.  DavidÂ
