I am not, nor have I ever been a primary caregiver. I will say though, that I would not be where I am today were it not for the efforts of my primary caregiver, Dawn Emerson.
At the time of my diagnosis, Dawn was my girlfriend-my diagnosis was in February of 1994. Dawn agreed to marry me in March of 1996. We married 9/14/96, our son Alexander was born 9/25/98, and Alex just finished the first grade. As for my myeloma, during good times and bad, Dawn was with me every step of the way.
Caregivers are special people. I am working with a primary caregiver of a myeloma survivor of more than 15 years. She will chronical various emotional, personal and financial issues of being a caregiver. Look for caregiver content in the months ahead.
In the meantime, I welcome questions and comments (or rants) from any and all caregivers.
