Member Survivor Stories

Reading the stories of each cancer survivor will show you that the path to becoming a cancer survivor is not often straight and narrow, and most often is different for every person. But the moral of every cancer survivor story is to keep fighting. Below is one survivor story from a Beating Myeloma member:

Katty Wasserman's 17 year mm story
My mom, Katty Wasserman, was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in 1991at the age of 59.  The disease was inactive for about 6 years.  Withinthat time, she was checked frequently by doctors.  She also did tonsof research and read everything she could about Multiple Myeloma.  In1997, an oncologist suggested treating the disease.  My mother, basedon everything she had read, didn't think she needed it....yet.  Sheended up not being treated for two more years.She eventually ended up at the Moffitt Cancer Cen...
